Corridors
Five corridors through one country
We organise the firm around corridors rather than around borders. A corridor is a direction of travel, a set of counterparties and a way of doing business.
The map
Georgia at the centre
This is a diagram of orientation, not of operations. It shows where our clients travel and where we hold relationships. Our offices are in Tbilisi, Cannes and Geneva.
The five
Strategic orientation, and what it means for a client
France and Georgia
Orientation
The founding corridor and the most developed one we hold. French education, a French regulated practice in Cannes, and a working understanding of both administrations.
For a client
A French principal establishing in Georgia gets their structure read in advance by an Expert-Comptable in France. A Georgian company approaching French buyers or banks gets its file prepared to the standard those counterparties expect.
Europe and Georgia
Orientation
Georgia's free trade area with the European Union, and the regulatory convergence that comes with the Association Agreement, make the EU the reference market for most structures built here.
For a client
European companies use Georgia as a base for the wider region. Georgian companies use the same agreement in the other direction, to sell, raise or establish inside the EU.
The Middle East and Georgia
Orientation
Short flights, growing air links and Gulf capital increasingly looking north for deployment. Middle East investment into Georgia is concentrated in property, hospitality and operating businesses.
For a client
Gulf investors get local sourcing and honest judgement on assets rather than a sales pipeline. Georgian businesses get an approach route to Gulf capital that is prepared before it is used.
Asia and Georgia
Orientation
The free trade agreement with China, and the east to west transit route that crosses the Caucasus between Central Asia and the Black Sea, put Georgia inside a trade lane that is being actively rebuilt.
For a client
Companies sourcing from Asia use a Georgian entity as the contracting and staging point into Europe. Asian investors use it as a base facing Europe from outside the EU's regulatory perimeter.
Africa and Georgia
Orientation
The corridor with the most room in it. Commercial exchange with the Maghreb and West Africa is being rebuilt around sourcing, agricultural trade and industrial inputs.
For a client
Importers and exporters get a neutral contracting jurisdiction with trade access in both directions, and counterparty introductions that are checked before they are made.
Two directions
A bridge carries traffic both ways
Most advisory firms here sell one direction only: bringing foreigners in. That is half a business, and the smaller half.
Inbound · into Georgia
International clients establishing here
Entrepreneurs, investors, families and companies using Georgia as a base for the region, a holding jurisdiction, or a place to hold assets outside their home system. The work is assessment, structure, registration, banking and the first relationships.
Outbound · out of Georgia
Georgian businesses going international
Georgian companies with a product, a margin and ambition beyond the domestic market. The work is preparing the file for a European or Gulf counterparty: accounts that will survive review, a structure that a foreign bank will accept, and an approach that has been thought through.
The second direction is where the firm's French practice earns its place. Knowing what a European auditor, bank or buyer will ask for is only useful if you know it before they ask.

A note on presence
What we claim, and what we do not
Maison Gogoladze has offices in Tbilisi, Cannes and Geneva. We do not have offices in the Gulf, in Asia or in Africa, and we do not describe our relationships there as operations.
What we hold in those markets is a network: counterparties, advisers and institutions we have worked with and can reach directly. When a mandate needs more than that, we say so, and we bring in a qualified professional on the ground rather than pretending the reach is ours.
